2006                 Work experience placement at Anthony Collins Solicitors

  • Gained experience in the transformations department
  • Assisted in meetings by preparing transcripts of meetings from my own notes
  • Performed research tasks for members of the department including one of the partners
  • Proof read documents concerning the conveyance of property
  • Drafted and sent letters to clients

2007 to present  Central Theatre Supplies, Birmingham

  • Work as part of a team on the sale, hire and installation of professional lighting, sound, effects and related items
  • Used Sage Line 50 to manage and control stock levels and the arrangement of the shop area of the business
  • Applied and increased my skills gained in voluntary technical theatre
  • Assisted in the completion of 110 page paper based, CD and online sale catalogue and price list

2003 to 2007     Sales assistant, F Hinds

  • Responsibilities included the sale of jewellery, watches, clocks and collectibles, along with administrative duties and maintenance of the shop stock
  • Gained sufficient experience to provide cover for another branch
  • Received formal training on a weekly basis on subjects ranging from sales technique, repair procedure, customer service and additional services available
  • Presided over customers high value insurance claims
  • Achieved the best ‘link sales’ strike rate and surpassed sales targets set

ACHIEVEMENTS & INTERESTS

2006 to present Youth club leader with MAYC

  • Worked as a volunteer youth worker as part of a team organising and running events youth people aged 11 and older
  • Have honed leadership skills having dealt with all situations which arise from working with young adults
  • Arranged charity events for the group Comic Relief and NCH children’s charity
  • Used skills gained to provide maternity cover for a Girl Guide group

2007 to present Safeguarding Co-ordinator

  • Assisted organisations within a Methodist Church meet their requirements in relation to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
  • Provided consultation to the safeguarding team at another Methodist Church
  • Interpret and provide assistance with new legislation and recommendations in relation to the protection of individuals and the Criminal Records Bureau checks

Voluntary technical theatre

  • Set up and operate industry standard light and sound equipment to enhance the productions of amateur dramatic groups, schools and for charitable causes
  • Achieved the position of Chief Electrician in which I coordinate the logistics of the setting up, running and removing of equipment
  • Responsible for a team of technicians who operate sound, lighting and effects
